It is a terrible event. I think the police arrived on the scene confused as they had been called by the killer’s brother who was the one who said there had been racial abuse. It was dark so they couldn’t see the blood and believed they were attending a case of racial abuse not a stabbing.
I’m not making excuses because they should have listened to Henry but they had been given the wrong information about the crime they were being called to attend and on arrival were unable to see exactly what had occurred.
@stusatirical My son already had a new mattress quite recently so it was just a new base. His old one was a wooden frame and was days away from collapsing completely 🤣
@mickski76 I agree that what Starmer said was unhelpful and it triggered a lot of people but Henry died because a man stabbed him not because of an ideology.
@mee_julie Don’t wave the flag, it’s for patriots who care about uniting the country not tearing it apart like Farage and his supporters.
Shock to have a faceless, nameless account having a go though!! 😂
We cannot have politicians publicly condemning the actions of the police without undermining the people who enforce the law in this country. Two officers made some major errors, but that is not a reflection on the entire force.
Do you remember the terrible stabbing of numerous people on a train last year? The police were incredible and dealt with the situation perfectly. Why should their names be besmirched because these two have failed?
@ccityplanner12 Clearly there needs to be an investigation into the terrible incident and what needs to happen to prevent a repetition. Stoking discontent online while pretending to condemn the violence in Southampton is nothing like ‘one complaining about police.’
I’ve been a huge critic of Keir Starmer but today this was spot on.
The death of Henry Nowak is a tragedy that should indeed be a turning point. I get the anger but the point of that turn however isn’t to get bladdered and fight coppers. It achieves nothing.
