9 of 10 key BGS messages on older people's healthcare:
Hospitals are a vital part of care for older people but long stays are harmful. https://t.co/srcLcVUGqb
This is a key message to nhs managers and ICBs.
Older people live with complex needs, multimorbidity, often disability & there is large overlap with frailty as a LTC.

Doctor. 👩⚕️ Rower. 🚣♀️ Champion! 🏆
A doctor from Worcestershire Royal Hospital is celebrating a stellar season in her rowing boat, after picking up medals at the @BritishRowing Championships, the British Rowing Masters, and the @HenleyRegatta.
Back on dry land, Dr Catherine Jackson is a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine at our hospitals. But Catherine leads a double life racing (and winning!) at top-level British rowing competitions after taking up the sport at university.
🏆 This season she collected the Fiona Dennis Trophy for winning the aspirational lightweight single sculls event at the Henley Women's Regatta, before winning the Masters B single scull and Masters C double sculls at the British Rowing Masters 🥇🥇
Earlier this month she rounded off her excellent season with a silver medal at the senior British Rowing Championships 🥈
Congratulations on your amazing season Dr Jackson! 👏

I am undertaking a QI project on dysphagia screening in Critical Care and keen to understand the views of other SLTs/current practices.
I would be really grateful if SLTs working in critical care could complete this questionnaire by 21/5/25. Thank you!😀
