SIK Pre-Season Player to Watch: Nora Burdiek, a 5’10” outside hitter and defensive specialist from Rossville High School, is one of the top three sport athletes in 2A. A two-year varsity starter in volleyball, she has already racked up 803 career kills and 549 digs, including 491 kills and 368 digs in her sophomore season alone. Her 2024 performance earned her First Team 2A State honors. She also excels on both the basketball court and softball field. In basketball, she was named to multiple all-tournament teams and earned SIK 2A All-State Second Team honors from Sports in Kansas. In softball, she was a SIK Second Team All-State 2-1A outfielder. Burdiek enters her junior season with big goals. “I’m really looking forward to this upcoming school volleyball season. We’ve been working hard this summer and I’m excited to put our work into play. I hope to also reach 1,000 kills this year, and over 500 digs.” #sportsinkansas
