.@BartAndrews says there is “male suffering blindness.” We tend to turn our backs on the suffering of men and it’s taking a negative toll on men. With all of the stats he shared, he noted that it’s even worse for men of color. #AAS24
I spoke with @SFreedenthal about her new book, "Loving Someone With Suicidal Thoughts" for Episode 132. As always, Stacey brings deep insight and no BS to her work. We talk about creating support teams, feeling manipulated, and more. New transcript! https://t.co/MumcaxWpSk
Even while here at #AAS24, I got the heartbreaking news that a close family friend lost their 18 yo nephew last night to suicide. I am devastated for them. This is why we have to keep pushing. We have to think outside of the box. People need to feel their life is worth living.

Having an obnoxiously loud fire alarm go off for MINUTES — twice — at a crucial point in your presentation is a nightmare! @Lenaschatz handled it w/remarkable grace yesterday at #AAS24.

Very moving & inspiring TED Talk from @Lenaschatz today! Thank you for sharing your experiences & Danielle with us! Our lived experience can inform our leadership in the field of suicide. #AAS24
Excellent thought provoking TED Talk from Sarah Gaer! We don’t need to drop the reactive/downstream approach but need to ADD the proactive/upstream approach & create space for this in the field of suicidology. We need a much larger investment in that space! #AAS24
