My Glasto one day diary…
Yesterday started as beautifully as it ended… The sun came out to greet us from the moment we (the band) were picked up from my studio in Brixton… We had a small hiccup, as the original van we booked was too small for our gear so we swapped it for another and, after a few tongue-in-cheek photo poses in the courtyard, we set on our way.
Arriving @glastonbury was a tapestry of first timer, singer YVA’s ineffable excitement, young folk in Bill and Ben hats, personal nostalgia, having played there so much over the years, usual festival confusion and more glorious sun 🌞
After being hurriedly ushered to @BBC6Music for an interview with wonderful #jamzsupernova and two quick pics later, I was escorted to backstage @WestHoltsGlasto where I met up with fellow band members, @EosCounsell , @ShaplaSalique , @YVAOfficial and #arefdurvesh , all very happy and animated about our eminent location.
We were joined shortly thereafter by guests, @TVSanjeev , @MeeraSyal , @andyserkis and @HakBaker .
The gig itself was a flurry of backstage preparation, a minimal stage line check and… an absolutely sublime experience of performing to a rapidly expanding crowd.
We loved every moment. You can see the full gig under “Hidden gems” on the @BBCiPlayer Glasto menu… and here’s a link https://t.co/wyFpPATF3z . You can actually download the full gig there. Enjoy… 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️💫
All disabilities exist on a spectrum. There are almost always people who are less impaired and people who are more impaired. A person who is less impaired should never undermine the experiences of or speak over those who are more impaired.
April’s #fullmoon is called the ‘Pink Moon’ and rises on the night of 23rd April 2024. Native Americans gave it this name because it coincides with the blooming of Phlox subulata, which bursts into flower around this time. It is also known as the ‘Budding Moon’. #nature#folklore
