@BiratNepal is implementing Accelerate project w/ Lalgadh Hosp, Dhanusha; Shining Hosp, Banke & CMDN-Nepal @smadixit ; focusing on early #Leprosy case detection, treatment & whole genome sequencing of bacteria; funded by Leo Foundation through @UniMelb@SarahJDunstan1#leprosyday
Driving #Leprosy elimination in #Nepal ! ๐
455 cases enrolled; 98% of biopsy samples sent to CMDN-Nepal @smadixit ; Project Accelerate is generating vital evidence to boost early detection, care & understand transmission in vulnerable communities.

So happy that I could raise $1540 to support TB recovery in Nepal! Thank you to all who contributed to provide food support to people sick with TB and their families. It makes a world of differenceโค๏ธ So happy I could run 21.1K too๐ #TBRecovery#RunForTBRecovery@BiratNepal
Congratulations to @SarahJDunstan1 (& Diane) for completing Run Melbourne half marathon this morning!๐
And huge thanks to all our generous friends who donated to support Run for Recovery. ๐ ๐ ๐ฅ
@BiratNepal@_KritikaDixit@_KritikaDixit your talk was wonderful and informative, and showed how important it is to engage with the community where research is performed
@BiratNepal@TheDohertyInst Thank you for hosting me. It was wonderful to share results of the #TargetTB study with all of the Nepali partners who contributed so much to its success! I cannot thank you enough for your dedication to this project and your dedication to #EndTB@TheDohertyInst @UniMelbMDHS
BNMT is committed to "Unite, Act, and Eliminate" #leprosy in #Nepal. Today, we showcased our solidarity with those affected by leprosy and raised awareness by participating in the rally to mark #WorldLeprosyDay. Here are a few glimpses of the event. #UniteActEliminate
Today, our colleagues joined the Nepal Leprosy Relief Association's rally from Basundhara Chowk to mark #WorldLeprosyDay. Aligned with this year's theme, "Unite. Act. Eliminate.", BNMT's ACCELERATE project is also enhancing early detection & treatment of leprosy in Nepal.
On #WorldLeprosyDay I want to raise awareness of this ancient disease that continues to affect people in 23 countries; including in Nepal, where approx 3000 new cases are diagnosed annually. With @BiratNepal we are working towards a leprosy-free future @LEOFondet@TheDohertyInst
BNMT is implementing the "ACCELERATE' Project to improve early detection & treatment of #leprosy in Banke, Bardiya, Mahottari & Dhanusha districts. With Shining & Lalgadh Hospitals, funded by @LEOFondet, we're working towards zero leprosy transmission in #Nepal! #WorldLeprosyDay
Unite, Act, Eliminate - This #WorldLeprosyDay, let's come together to raise awareness, take action, and work towards eliminating #leprosy. Together, we can make a difference!
Hereโs a glimpse of @SarahJDunstan1 engaging with the audience during our #TARGETTB project presentation! Exciting discussions on TB transmission dynamics in urban & rural Nepal using genomics. #EndTB#UnionConference
How can drones transform TB diagnosis in remote Nepal? @_KritikaDixit from #BNMT explores insights from communities and healthcare providers on this innovative approach. Donโt miss her talk on Thursday, November 14, 10:28 AM โ 10:37 AM, OA15-223-14 at Orchid Hall. #UnionConf2024
Congratulations Dr Matt Silcocks on this wonderful achievement! Can't wait to see where this ARC DECRA leads you!
University of Melbourne early-career researchers awarded over $6 million from the Australian Research Council https://t.co/k4RYxDKt6u
Congratulations Dr. Ryan Wick and Dr. Matthew Silcocks, bioinformatics researchers at the Doherty Institute, for winning the prestigious ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Awards (DECRA)! ๐
๐ฌ Dr. Ryan Wick is at the forefront of developing computational methods that improve the assembly and polishing of bacterial genomes.
๐ฌ Dr. Matthew Silcocks has developed a unique research niche, leveraging his knowledge of human genomics and population history to contextualise the evolution of some of humanity's oldest pathogen foes.
