Need something good in your life?
Read the Book of Mormon!
I have read this book so many times, I have lost count, and EVERY SINGLE TIME, the promised blessings come!
During my young adult years, some were critical of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Likewise, others were critical of the idea of following Jesus Christ and exercising faith in Him. Those same arguments are being trumpeted across the internet today.
There has been and always will be opposition in all things. Nevertheless, those who pray, study scriptures, live the commandments, and worship and follow the Savior will see these arguments in their true light. Their faith will grow, and their lives will be blessed.
The best approach for both gaining and maintaining a testimony is to immerse yourselves in the Book of Mormon, so you can experience the ongoing witness of the Spirit.
Your testimony will be strengthened when you know in your heart through your prayers that the Prophet Joseph Smith was an instrument in the Lord’s hands—and that the Savior leads His church through living prophets today.
Before we served together in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I sat beside Elder Russell M. Nelson for 34 years in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
He became my best friend and most effective teacher. His life bore witness of his committed testimony as a Prophet and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.
@defense_of_fam This was one of the best books I ever read to strengthen my marriage! I also love "Grow Your Marriage By Leaps and Boundaries" https://t.co/r2fieRFQ1x
| recently saw a post encouraging its readers to avoid teaching Elder Rasband's talk on the family proclamation because it might be problematic and hurtful to those whose families don't meet the ideal.
In truth, no family meets the ideal. We are all imperfect, and so are our families.
What's different now, 30 years after the proclamation was introduced, is that we have different social issues affecting the family.
The lgbtq movement has swept over western civilization like a tidal wave, leaving few families untouched.
The issues of the past—death, divorce, fornication, cohabitation, out-of-wedlock births, abortion, infidelity and even abuse—were never cause for dismissing the family proclamation.
We understood that even in imperfect situations, our hope was always in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His ability to shoulder our burdens and bind up our broken hearts.
The ideal gave us hope for better things to come, whether in this life or the next. It gave us eternal perspective and understanding.
In my opinion, the national recognition of same-sex marriage in 2015 changed everything.
The laws of the land broke from the laws of God. What was once taboo was now normal, accepted and even encouraged.
Opening the door to same-sex marriage also opened the door to things like rampant gender confusion, especially among children and youth.
For some, these "new issues" affecting the family justify ignoring-and even fighting against-the eternal doctrine and prophetic counsel found in the family proclamation.
Instead of turning towards the only One who can bring hope and healing, many sadly turn away feeling that these issues are too big for Jesus Christ, that they are somehow unreachable by His atoning sacrifice.
I testify that they are not.
God gives us commandments for our ultimate benefit and happiness, not just in this life, but in the next. Keeping them is not always easy, but He always provides a way. Always.
The way Jesus Christ.
The family proclamation is the solution because it points us toward Him.

My friends, this post is almost to 200K impressions. If you wouldn’t mind quoting, reposting, commenting, and/or liking, I would appreciate it.
The Book of Mormon is the forerunner to Christ’s Second Coming. It is a type of “John the Baptist” for our day.
Great blessings come to families if they pray together, kneeling night and morning to offer thanks for blessings and to pray over common concerns. #GeneralConference
Did you guys notice that President Oaks made sure that we knew that the part of his talk about the divine nature of the family was approved weeks before President Nelson passed away?
He was letting us know that he and the late prophet were totally alined on the issue of the disintegration of the family structure. That feels very important.
