@a_g_haubner@SarahMGrapes Personally, I don't think it's an 'always considering' situation. I understand your sentiment, but, imo, it's really only specific to the type of play we saw last night. The Carter bump. The Diamond bump, before that. It's pretty easy to know what will be culturally weaponized
Jonquel Jones: "It's not about the reps, it's not about playing time, it's not about none of that stuff. It's about having some heart and playing with some fucking heart." (Q: @ClassicJpow)
@a_g_haubner@SarahMGrapes I don't think it's hard to navigate fair bb critique while also understanding the greater implications of an extremely narrow subset of commentary. The rw will never dictate what we talk about, but addressing very specific topics w societal impact in mind is part of the gig, too
@a_g_haubner I dont mind criticizing AT at all but i think describing the play as "targeted" and "egregious," while ignoring the full-speed context in favor of a slow-mo replay help feed a conspiracy theory machine that was never about AT, but about the leagues relationship with Clark
Because the language YOU used enflamed emotions and empowered bad actors. Another two things that can be true. You were technically correct but also enflamed the situation that is now out of control.
I don’t understand why so many of yall don’t think two things can be true at once.
Dirty play from AT IMO. Should’ve been a flagrant or ejection in the moment. But the league retroactively doing this is going to inflame tensions further.
Those concepts aren’t in conflict.
@madkenney@robinson_m24814 yea but this one was egregious and obvious on TUESDAY and they made time to review a non-injury lose ball foul and upgrade it to a flagrant 2 in a game that happened last night... the doubles standard is obvious
the most dramatic post of all time... karmas gonna come back around on this one and i hope when it does a social team has this shit saved and ready to repurpose
“I don’t that we can blame all the injuries on physicalityI think all the soft tissue stuff..lot of that stuff can happen from overuse.”
- Sparks HC Lynne Roberts on league-wide injuries and if physicality is a contributing factor
Updated injury report for the Liberty:
Breanna Stewart is OUT for REST after she played in 35 mins against Vegas.
Satou Sabally is OUT and in concussion protocol after she got hit in the face against Vegas.
Ans who could have ever anticipated bad faith actors jumping on over the top tweet like yours to disparage the league and black and gay players?? Y’all are so irresponsible it’s insane
