Well done to Cian from @tudublincompsci who received the Best Student Project award from @ProgrammeSpark at #SparkSummit23 for a wonderful collaborative project with our pathology lab
I was the on-call consultant last night when lab services were curtailed, not a fun scenario. But as a former lab scientist I wholeheartedly support the strike. Lab Medicine is the core of high standards in Irish healthcare, quiet champion of good outcomes. #MedicalScientists
My 14yr old lad regularly requires the services of the Medical Scientists in the labs in Crumlin. He made this limerick yesterday while in Crumlin in support of their cause 🙂 Hoping it gets sorted asap #MedicalScientists#mlsa#mlsastrike
As obstetricians & midwives we cannot do our job without our #MedicalScientist colleagues. They are part of the team 24/7 and critical in emergency situations (usually in the dead of night!). We support them today and every day.
#MedicalScientists are stepping up Industrial Action because they have fewer career development opportunities and less training supports. They also carry out identical work to colleagues in hospital laboratories, yet are paid 8% less.
#MedicalScientists on #strike again today and tomorrow. We have no choice. @HSELive won’t talk to us. How shocking is that. They are the employer. Their job is to enable treatment of patients
Heard this segment and had the same thoughts… who will be doing the newborn screening- #MedicalScientists yet more tests put on us when we barely have enough staff to cover what we already do.
