Α pleasure to host the third edition of the EU-China Blue Partnership Forum for the Ocean.
Three critical areas demand our immediate attention: ocean protection, sustainable fisheries, Ocean observation decisions guided by the best available science.
Through this Partnership, we reaffirm our commitment to uphold the international rules-based order and work together to safeguard multilateralism.
A great way to mark Presidents day at the American Irish Historical Society NYC celebrating Irish America 250 with @NiallODowd highlighting Irish influence on George Washington and @MOSiadhail declaring his new commissioned poem "Irish America 250"🇮🇪🇺🇸

As #COP30 begins I was glad to contribute to this short film from the Grantham Institute, telling the story of how a #LossAndDamage fund was agreed three years ago. It’d give you some hope we can still reach agreement in these tough times. #ClimateJustice https://t.co/nGDgF2t9tS
Good to meet John Kerry today in Nice.
John has been a leader in climate and oceans for decades now. He expressed his appreciation for the role that Ireland is currently playing when it comes to these important global issues.
Had an open and honest discussion with NGOs about protecting our Ocean. I received their 🗳️petition, with thousands of messages from citizens concerned about bottom trawling in Marine Protected Areas. Ongoing dialogue, collaboration and decision making based on sound scientific evidence are key to managing our resources responsibly, while balancing the social and economic impacts on our fishers. Innovation and awareness are crucial for finding shared solutions to common challenges.

@miaamormottley Ireland is delighted to see that agreement was reached on a minimum allocation of 50% funding for #LDCs and #SIDS for the start-up phase of the Fund for Responding to #LossandDamage.
This has been a key 🇮🇪 priority from Day 1, for this Fund to reach the most vulnerable.
Rapa Nui has a new integrated management plan for its marine protected areas! This will help preserve unique biodiversity, support local communities, and continue cultural traditions. Honored to be part of this historic achievement with Rapa Nui and our partners. @pewenvironment

County Donegal, Ireland.
For instance the 2020 crossover voters resonated with my heavy focus on reform and taking on corruption. They liked that I don’t accept corporate PAC funding as they see special interests as a major corrupting force in politics that drowns out the voice of regular people. 6/12
I’m representing 🇮🇪 at #COP16Colombia to reaffirm our commitment to protect and restore nature, and halt biodiversity loss. These are promises that Ireland intends to keep. We have a long way to go, but as the saying goes, tús maith, leath na hoibre 🌱

Tonight’s vote in Israel to ban UNRWA is disastrous and shameful. It’ll go down in history as the moment Israel voted to cut off an irreplaceable humanitarian pipeline to a humanitarian disaster zone.
This week I'm in Cali 🇨🇴 representing @IrishEnvNet at CBD #COP16. The Kuming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework gives us a window of opportunity to #RestoreNature. One of the questions world leaders will be grappling with this week is how restoration is funded.
Proceedings just about to start at the high level segment of #COP16 here in Cali.
We are hoping to build on the historic agreement reached in Montreal. I'm proud to be leading the 🇮🇪 delegation as part of the 🇪🇺 negotiating team.
There is a large Irish delegation at #COP16 🇨🇴 lead by Minister Noonan. This wasn't always the case & its credit to the Minister for ensuring 🇮🇪 is at the table working on one of the most important issues of our time. Vamos todos juntos! 🐆🌴🦜
