On my way to DC this morning to advocate for more Helene funding, and I'm pleased to report that earlier this week, @fema announced additional support for our state – more than $200M to reimburse recovery work and support voluntary buyouts for homeowners in WNC. North Carolina is grateful for the continued partnership of the federal government. I will not stop working to make sure western NC gets the resources it needs to recover for the long haul.

I spent today in Buncombe County meeting with members of the NC Forest Service, learning more about their work and some of the challenges they are facing this wildfire season. Today's news from @FEMA is very welcome: More than $38 million in Public Assistance has been approved for debris removal, infrastructure, and road repair from Hurricane Helene damage. Every dollar moves us closer to making sure western NC has the resources it needs for recovery.
