Though Election Day was more than a week ago, staff remains hard at work processing votes for the final tallies. Today, 16,009 ballots were scanned and counted after these ballots were accepted by the Electoral Board.

This morning, staff and volunteers began processing those early votes with the first of several verification steps that will lead to results being ready after polls close at 7 p.m.

We recently welcomed a 6th grade civics class from Fairfax Baptist Temple Academy to get a close look at democracy in action.

The students observed the voting and counting processes. They also voted a mock ballot on the best ice cream flavors, pets and pizza toppings. 🍦🐶🍕
