A SCATHING statement from Sanne Wevers to the FIG on the bronze medal situation:
“Take responsibility, and understand what it feels like to have the world come down on you.”
Gymnasts get 4-minutes to submit an inquiry, except for the LAST gymnast to compete who get only 1-minute
Jordan Chiles submitted an inquiry at 1 minute and 4 seconds
Missing the limit by 4 seconds
Say it louder!!! Also, non-gymnastics people using words like “cheating” for Jordan are causing the media to write it wrong. Similar to using the word “quit” instead of “scratch” for Simone in 2021.
Among other things that need reforming, this is among them. For all other gymnasts in the final, roughly 3-4 minutes are permitted to make an inquiry.
For the last gymnast of the final? Max. 1 minute. Jordan’s inquiry was 4 seconds late.
the amount of people who feel bad for Ana because she thought she won a medal for a minute but don’t feel bad for Jordan that she thought she won a medal for days is actually so disappointing
i can’t wait to see the segment in the documentary that discusses how no man in olympic history has ever been deducted for “not properly addressing the judges” while playing clip after clip of male gymnasts just fist pumping after routines & walking off
Here’s the moment Navy DT Chreign LaFond found out that his sister, Thea LaFond, won gold in the Triple Jump today - Dominica’s first-ever Olympic medal 🥹🏅

Just before Simone Biles' top competitor, Rebeca Andrade, dismounted balance beam, you can distinctly hear Biles yelling, "Come on. You got it!" Wow. Andrade was beating her heading into this third of four rotations and Biles still cheered for her. Amazing sportsmanship.
As much I am proud to be an Auburn alum and love Suni and the SEC, she did not put SEC gymnastics on the map, which @RichLernerGC has said twice now! The dynasty of Bama & Georgia lasted decades 👀

@KBoopaloo The childless part of that statement in his interview was infuriating. People don’t have children for many reasons, & some want them & can’t have them. To insinuate that not having children means one isn’t invested in future generations is horribly ignorant & shameful.
