Proud that this week, through the @coxinstituteuga's Digital Natives program, students are volunteering at media outlets across GA to help with digital needs.

Foxglove PlantBar features a community propagation wall where guests can take a plant trimming home to #garden or leave one from a plant they own. “It’s totally free. Kind like a little library,” said Von.
Von Kidd, the co-owner of Foxglove PlantBar, has created a space for people to familiarize themselves with exotic #plants. She propagates fauna like Albos that are not local to Georgia.
At Foxglove PlantBar, guests can build a #terrarium and small-scale garden their plants. "we just want to be a hub for everybody, no matter your level of plant knowledge," said Von.
#Campaign spending for the 2022 November #Midterms has been all-time record setting with Georgia's Raphael Warnock having spent more than $10.9 million.
Georgia voter turnout has broken all-time records as well, with over 2.2 M Georgians #Voting early.
The first photo shows the White Oak Plantation in the 1970’s, compared to how it stands today. There are a few structural additions like the wooden stairsteps, but the exterior remains the same. “We left the original outdoor of the house,” said Kathleen.
On October 4, I toured the house of retired Professor Emerita Kathleen Demarrais, @demarrais205. Original elements of this 1830’s home include the doors and flooring, which were sourced from oak trees on the property.
It was a pleasure to meet #interiordesign expert Jade Joyner at her @MetalandPetal Athens studio. Joyner’s creative methodology prioritizes balance between natural influences and out-of-the-ordinary items. https://t.co/GrJtHkegTm
More from @MetalandPetal: the shades of green from the plants and furniture on display add organic energy in the front room. #contemporary jesmonite vases from UK-based #SmallBusiness Misshandled are for sale, one of the several artisan products that the retail shop carries.
Inside @MetalandPetal’s design studio you can find artisan stationary, candles, #velvet upholstery and Ranger, who likes to relax on top the #traditional carpets. The storefront’s lush, maximalist atmosphere is similar to @Anthropologie.
Something I love about antique pieces is their #classic ornamentation. Made of sterling silver, these vases and dishes were created by 19th century luxury brands, some of which are still in business like @TiffanyAndCo. On display at the @GMOA.
Best social media practices was a common way Digital Natives helped Georgia newsrooms last week. @llenz99, with a bit of help from @Sarah_Donehoo, built a guide for @WDUNRadio with tips, examples and walkthrus of programs like Audiogram, Instagram and social scheduling/analytics.
When the @stmarysathens hospital gift shop was closed due to #COVID19, hospital volunteer Faye Martin
was able to keep making vases and baskets by arranging the flowers she bought from @blossoms_us in her home and delivering them to the front of the hospital.
#volunteers like Faye Martin exemplify why service is so good for the community. It has been a privilege to interview her and see how she makes @stmarysathens a brighter place.
