A worrying number of cancer patients in England are having to wait longer than they should to begin treatment. This is unacceptable when it takes a matter of weeks for some cancers to progress.
The last time all targets for cancer waiting times were met in England was 2015. It’s vital that the UK Government delivers additional investment in NHS staff and diagnostic equipment, coupled with reform to cancer services. Without them, targets will continue to be missed and patients will not receive the level of care that they deserve.
