Congrats to Dr Sarah Burge, supported by Dr Karen Litton and Dr Patsy Whelehan all from our Radiography team, who recently presented at the #AMEE2025 conference in Barcelona. 👏
Great to see such important research being shared with colleagues globally.
The GMC’s argument that it is compelled to investigate and punish all doctors who have been found to break the law is fundamentally flawed. This case has absolutely no bearing on patient care, safety, public confidence nor trust - which should be the GMC’s sole consideration.
🧵/ The government doesn’t want you to know it, but it is currently conducting a massive, un-evidenced, cost-cutting experiment in the NHS, replacing doctors with so-called physician associates. 1/n

@doctorgrieco@ollieburtonmed@DrDLittle@RCRadiologists Not in favour of this. Similar to MSRA, this would end up preferentially selecting for those with more opportunity to revise (those on F3 years, F2 with community placements) and disadvantage those without tons of free time to teach themselves a syllabus of completely new content
Merry Christmas to all those working in the NHS today
Many staff in the NHS are grossly underpaid (even on Christmas day👇) but none more so than Junior Doctors who frequently graduate with >£100k debt
RT to support them & ask government to pay them ALL fairly #PayRestoration
Based on some recent conversations, I felt like a thread was needed on some of the issues surrounding medical training, and how they intersect with the long term workforce plan.
Buckle in for a long one

🚨🚨 the vote is in🚨🚨
#juniordoctors have voted unanimously to strike.
98.06% yes vote.
For the second time in my training, we will do what is right, not what is easy and pursue industrial action
#medtwitter#NHS#NHSStrike
JDC today voted to enter trade dispute on behalf of junior doctors in England with the Government over pay, recognising anger felt at years of damaging pay cuts, chronic staff shortages and persistent underfunding.
A ballot for industrial action is planned for around January 9
@HartlandJoseph Aware it's a tongue in cheek comedy (aimed largely at non-medics) so they're hardly going to be portraying perfect collegiality but honestly as an F1 it simply portrays my worst nightmare haha
@HartlandJoseph I felt this! Like this poor young doctor is in possibly her first rare emergency in that specialty and he's mad and insanely patronising because she hasn't perfectly interpreted some instructions he yells down a corridor?!
Catching up on #MedTwitter after a family focused bank holiday weekend.
I’m left wondering about “progression” for doctors in training posts.
So here is a thread…
