@ASD_teens_adult Have you seen Hannah Gadsby's stand-up comedy special Body of Work? She talks about being diagnosed as an adult and how that's impacted her.
@mel_thegreat My dad would have been home napping over a bowl of sherbet at 3 pm before going back for the evening. After that … ten? Eleven? Tomorrow?
Me: This novel revision is due in exactly two weeks. Yikes.
Also me: Oh look, squirrel!
Anyway, I’m watching TV with Paul and Teddy while blithely making fun plans like I’m not about to spend the next 14 days chained to my desk.
On my morning walk today, a lady asked me, “How did you get your dog to come out that color?” Um. I had very little to do with that, ma’am. (He’s a 6-month-old saint berdoodle.)
@ThereseBeharrie I have three children. Potty training was my least favorite part, bar none. (Related: we currently have a puppy. Good thing he too is very cute.)
@ZoeYorkWrites This is the one that worked on me, by the way. I’ve been meaning to buy one of your books since you spoke to MORWA, but this is the tweet that got me to finally click buy now. 😊
@carlywatters Query Tracker first (who reps my genre, are they accepting queries) then agency websites, Twitter, and MSWL—all for different info. Each query takes me at least 45 minutes … and I start with a spreadsheet of potential matches.
@LaQuetteWrites No, but I’m guessing some extra/unusual ingredient. Like how a dirty chai has a shot of espresso (yuck). Maybe a coffee or black pepper crust?
I'm also no longer with my previous agent, so #amquerying again. But I can't regret taking this time to do a deep dive to focus on and level up my writing.
Quick catch-up on the past two years of my writing life. I've been immersed in @StonecoastMFA (grad June '23). I've revised two novels, written a new novel, and started a collection contemporary YA retellings of Agatha Christie stories. I'm having a blast!
