@CTmagazine@drleahpayne Many Work for big conference events and very large churches often but just don’t work in the local church. I am being far more chosey about what works congregationally both with melody and lyrics that are rich in biblical truth.
"Vaccination cannot be the sole means of containing the spread of the virus: hand and respiratory hygiene, social distancing, face-coverings and good ventilation are also important factors in lessening the spread of the disease." @churchofengland@CofEDevon
@Psephizo@AJWTheology@PreachMagazine I heard that this morning with a sigh ! Its just our traditional telling of the story reading between the lines according to our own cultural understanding. African culture tells it very differently as far more community minded. Grasping God’s word hermeneutics book lesson
@krishk I would love to see aid dropped in ( instead of bombs ) as a sign of our love and care for them. Oh God we do so need your wisdom and a miracle here
@krishk This is just so very tragic. Children and families dying of hunger or no medical treatments, girls being sold off at 9 to marry old men. This is just so totally inhumane, meanwhile in the west are concerned that some toys or crisps may not be in stock. And super rich get richer
@spectator No this country doesn’t care and is just leaving it to the vaccine. Even with really high rates still no sensible mitigations. Pretty useless
@BishopRuthB@ChichesterDio@krishk That’s so fantastic to hear. Here in Hastings we had quite a few new arrivals on the beach this week. We all want yo help where we can
@TGC@TrevinWax Also saw pictures of children arriving as refugee / immigrants picked up by our local lifeboat crew today arriving in our town. Its when you see the real stories and not just numbers it brings it home. Meanwhile, i along with most of us really dont go without
@TGC@TrevinWax Its when you see the real suffering of do many that it just breaks your heart. Watching a climate change programme last night with men in an African village hand digging a well. 25ft later they got there and praised God. Humbling.
@DailyMail@SabirahLohn Trouble is poverty in Africa has locals cutting down and deforesting areas of their own land leaving it barren. It’s going to need more than a few trees - a new way of thinking needed too
@TGC So what is the American evangelical view on Halloween then ? It appears that many observe it. Just interested from Uk point of view where it’s discouraged and sometimes light / superhero parties held instead by churches.
@johnehosier Autumn is in full swing and the colours are beautiful, hearty homemade meals and soups, pumpkin spice, and the month for remembrance. And at the end advent begins. O come o come Immanuel
@edstetzer Nor American so don’t do thanksgiving ( or Halloween). November is the month of remembering starting with all saints day and Remembrance day. I like advent Sunday to be the start of the season and begin with some decorations during First week. Tree around 10th. Music Decembe
@krishk Well it’s practically November now so not too early 😄 there are some Christmas shops that open all year. ( especially Germany, Austria and Disney )
