My son has T1D and we recently switched from @myomnipod 5 to @TandemDiabetes Mobi. We are experiencing nonstop issues getting supplies from Tandem. My wife has spent hours on the phone with Tandem reps and the Autosoft 30 which we rely on is backordered and unavailable.

Compared to Omnipod where we never had issues this is pretty shocking. We're now faced with switching back to the Omnipod after countless hours of trainings and work to get up-to-speed on the new technology not to mention the disruption and disappointment our son will feel.

Terrible way to run a business that makes medical devices used by children.

People don't realize what #Ravens All-Pro TE Mark Andrews goes through during games. Andrews has Type-1 diabetes and has to check his blood sugar whenever he gets off the field.

While off the field, he wears a continuous glucose monitor. Watch this video:

One year ago today my (now 4 year old) son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

I haven't shared much about this publicly, but people close to me know how challenging it was.

Now that we're living it everyday, I wish more people knew about type 1 so here's a quick overview.

@TSA Trust me, he would love to. But he has type 1 diabtes and cannot because the scanners will disable life sustaining medical devices he wears. He later told us he was sad about the way they treated him. He is 3.

@TSA We have signed up for this several times and it has never worked. It would also help if you train your staff to handle these situations with more care. Today the agent at JFK/Jet Blue kept shouting that my 3 year old did not "want" to go through the scanners.
