In 1990, Sarla Bhat, 27, was working as a staff nurse at Srinagar’s SKIMS hospital to support her family, even as fear forced her community to flee.

On April 15, 1990, Sarla was abducted from her hostel. For four agonizing days, JKLF terrorists subjected her to brutal torture and sexual assault. When her body was dumped in Mallabagh on April 19, her killers had carved the acronym "JKLF" directly into her flesh from a knife.

The horror continued for her family. When Sarla’s bullet-ridden body returned to Anantnag, the neighborhood was already a ghost town emptied by the exodus. Marooned and helpless, the grieving family could not find enough people to carry her to a funeral pyre. As they attempted her final rites, a grenade was hurled at their home. This targeted terror forced the last remaining Hindu families to flee.

Systemic apathy followed. Though a police complaint was filed in 1990, the file was buried. It took until 2025 for a Special Investigation Agency to reopen the case, naming four terrorists. Two are dead, one is absconding, and one is imprisoned: Yasin Malik, who was once pampered as a Damaad by New Delhi, invited to the high table as one of the esteemed "stakeholders in the Kashmir peace talks." Yesterday, chargesheet was filed in this case.

Sarla’s case is not isolated. Thousands of women faced similar brutality in Kashmir during the late 1980s and 1990s, leaving behind stories that have been completely erased from the records today.

Bhojshala in Madhya Pradesh -

A Gurukul and Saraswati temple where invader Alauddin Khilji massacred 1200 students for refusing to convert to Islam and then built a mosque!

Bhojshala was a huge Gurukul and Saraswati Temple built by Raja Bhoj of the Parmar dynasty at Dhar, in 1034 CE.

Raja Bhoj, who ruled Dhar, was a staunch devotee of Goddess Saraswati and built a grand Gurukul named Saraswati Sadan in 1034 CE as Bhojshala along with a temple for Maa Saraswati.

In its heyday, Bhojshala was home to thousands of students and scholars as it was a main centre of education like Nalanda Mahavihara.

In 1305 CE, Alauddin Khilji attacked the Bhojshala and butchered 1200 students studying in the Gurukul, because they had refused to convert to Islam.

Then, Khilji converted it into Dargah. Later, Dilawar Khan Gauri (15th century) and Mahmud Shah Khilji (16th century) also built a mosque on that site.
The main lawyer arguing for the declaration of Bhojshala as a Hindu Saraswati temple was advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain.

Using the image of Lord Krishna for a cheap, crass advertisement during Vishu is not creativity. It is blatant disrespect.

This is not accidental or isolated. The CPM and Congress have spent years normalising the mockery of Hindu beliefs under the cover of “secularism”.

They have created a system where:

👉 Some sentiments are untouchable
👉 Insults against Hindu faith are met with silence or even encouragement.

That is not secularism. That is selective appeasement.

If this ad had targeted any other faith, there would have been massive outrage and protests from Congress and CPM leaders. But when it comes to Hindu beliefs? Only silence and excuses.
