Leader or Terrorist

You only have as much influence in people’s life as they have value for you. Anytime you are trying to have more influence in someone’s life than they have value for you; you, will be manipulating them.

Value is favor, and favor is influence, and influence is the power to change someone’s mind. Consequently, favor is the social currency of society; the drawbridge to trust. Trust is the foundation upon which every healthy relationship is built.

This is the ecosystem of great leadership! But what some people call leadership is actually drivership; forcing your will on another through fear, violence or manipulation.

If the only reason people listen to you is because they fear you; you are not a leader; you are a terrorist.

One of the greatest challenges I’ve faced in business and leadership, is a religious mindset that is rooted in false humility and a lack of understanding of the Kingdom of God. I can’t count the number of times that Christians have tried to convince me that we shouldn’t live life for a reward. Furthermore, they often argue that doing something to receive a reward, is unholy or even evil. Now, let me be clear, I understand that working for love, instead of working from love, is dysfunctional at best. I’m also aware that loving someone simply because they perform, is unhealthy and unholy.

Yet, despite the clear call from God on our lives, to love people no matter their accomplishments, the Bible is filled with verses that challenge us to live for a reward. In fact, with reference to Jesus, the Bible says, “For the Joy set before Him (Jesus) endured the Cross…” (Hebrews 12:2) Jesus didn’t enjoy the Cross, He endured it, because of the reward on the other side of it.

The Hebrew writer penned these words, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6) You can’t even please God unless you believe that He is going to reward you! Reward is in our DNA because, we were made in the image of Jesus, and it’s in His DNA. The author of Hebrews also had this to say about Moses. He wrote, “He considered the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward. (Hebrews 11:26)

Warning this post may be offensive to the comfortable: The Lord is calling fathers to stand up for their daughters, that are being bulldozed back into the dark ages of oppression as men, disguised as women; steal their gold metals, infiltrated their bathrooms and locker rooms, and violate their decency.
Fathers and mothers- we need to take a righteous stand and let politicians, and school boards, know that our children will not be participating in their social experiment.
Nor will they be pawns in some demented, political ploy to give perverts, pornographers and drag queens access to our kindergartens in the name of love or equal rights.
Our educational institutions have become indoctrinational centers in which they brain wash our children into their new demented realities. This must stop!
