Senators Fetterman and McCormick just showed what real leadership looks like. Governor Shapiro refused to put Pennsylvania in the Great American State Fair for America’s 250th anniversary. He claimed no businesses would sponsor it and he wouldn’t use taxpayer dollars.

Within days, Fetterman and McCormick stepped up across party lines, secured private sponsors from Pennsylvania businesses and organizations, and delivered a strong, lively booth on the National Mall — all at zero cost to taxpayers.

Pennsylvania helped birth this country — Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Liberty Bell, you name it. These two senators made sure their state was properly represented instead of sitting it out.

Patriotism isn’t Republican or Democrat. It’s not ‘woke BS.’ It’s honoring our history and putting America first. Fetterman and McCormick did exactly that. Shapiro chose not to. Respect to both senators for getting it done the right way. 🇺🇸

- Comfort and abundance can breed complacency at home. When basic security is taken for granted across generations, celebrations of founding principles risk being reframed as problematic or inconvenient, leading some cities to scale back fireworks for cost, weather, or "other priorities" while real allies abroad light up the sky.

- True appreciation for freedom often shines brightest from those who earned or defended it the hard way. Outsiders without the luxury of perpetual ease tend to honor what insiders, softened by plenty, sometimes take for granted or critique.

Truly amazing how a man who has clearly benefited from the freedoms America provides — freedoms of speech and religion that are protected by the Constitution and the system he now attacks — can rise to become Mayor of New York City and then stand at George Washington’s desk to denounce capitalism and American strength.

You were able to immigrate here, become a citizen, run for office, win, and publicly criticize the country without fear of imprisonment or worse precisely because of the capitalist republic Washington and the founders built. That system created the prosperity, opportunity, and rule of law that made your ascent possible. The same economic framework you condemn is what funds the city you govern, the social programs you support, and the platform from which you speak.

It takes a special kind of audacity to enjoy the fruits of American liberty and then lecture the nation on its supposed moral failings from the desk of the man who helped secure those liberties in the first place.
