@JostyJoshua Agreed. It's refreshing to see that it can't be used so aimlessly anymore. The cover shooter is finally a cover shooter with some strategy again

@JostyJoshua I'm so glad they pruned back wallbouncing now so you have to nearly touch cover before you can cancel. The next move TC should make in Gears 6 is make it how it was in 1/UE where you have to touch cover lmao

@JostyJoshua I hadn't really played a Gears game in some years until the E-Day open beta. I booted up Gears 5 today and was doing this right off the rip on kbm for the hell of it. Not optimal bouncing, but no one can convince me that this takes skill & is fun instead of annoying/ nauseating

@JostyJoshua My memory is hazy but this repeat of the cycle might be the worst it's ever been. Finally get a TC game that's a proper evolution for the series instead of just "Gears 3 again but worse," but elitists today want that worse product with figure skating wall bouncing tech intact

Trying to get acquainted with the controls and general feeling of Gears E-Day before I really dive in on the weekend. It isn't clicking with me. I tuned everything mostly to my liking and it's still not enough. I don't know if I'll be able to get used to the movement.

Waking from a posting coma to say that Gears of War: E-Day looks fucking cool. I really hope it's the win that gets GOW its spotlight back.

Out of caution I'll buy Game Pass to play it. Reloaded literally didn't work for me on Steam so I refunded that and hadn't gone back.

Now Persona 4 Revival is a day one buy for me. 3 Reload broke the ice for me to get into the games but 4 Golden on Vita was my first Persona. I want that on Steam for my PC and Deck.

Most of my full-price purchases go towards Nintendo games these days since they often stay the same price for ages. I can count on Xbox titles to go on sale later on and also get better with updates by the time that happens. I'm in this stuff for single player anyways so no FOMO.

Slightly bummed out that it isn't the long-rumored collection, I can't lie about that. However, porting Gears UE does make sense, with E-Day being the upcoming prequel game. The franchise needs new and returning people across all platforms on a classic before Gears E-Day (2026?)

There's still stuff to add, of course, but the Gears Reloaded page is made. I guess I'm back at it after almost six years. Kind of. I'm incredibly rusty at the Wiki stuff. I can't commit to it like I could back in the Gears of War 4 days. I'm hoping more people will add to it.

I'm excited for Reloaded, though! I play Xbox games via Steam primarily nowadays, so it's going to be cool to have Ultimate Edition ported there. I... really want a Gears 1 PC version that works, so hopefully, this is it!
