In a world where luck and money mix together, where every roll of the dice could make you rich or leave you empty-handed, we explore the shadowy corners of the Nigerian gambling world. 🎰🎲
Our story begins with a revelation: a survey conducted among 2487 individuals, shedding light on the enigmatic industry.
Their voices echo truths often overlooked - 88.2% doubting gambling as a reliable path to wealth, 79.9% urging for tighter regulations. These findings show us a clear picture of an industry that's both tempting and risky.
But the journey to this $256.9 million universe begins long before - all the way to the pre-colonial era when dice games and pool betting provided moments of respite.
In this report, we explore the history, structure, and perceived function of betting in Nigeria.
We break down the survey, drawing inferences that help us better understand the behavior of the people who indulge in the activity. This is so that we can once and for all answer the question - Is Sports Betting Really Worth the Investment?

Anyway, I’m not reforming yahoo boys into tech professionals. I never said this.
I’m just interested in empowering a faction of teenagers from ages 14-18 with very nuanced cases that can and should be reformed, else we’re just sitting on a time bomb and hoping our problems go away. The numbers are at an all time high and we’re way too deep in this rot to just leave it to law enforcement running rackets around the problem.
The first smartan cohort graduated a couple of weeks ago and it’s been the most impactful project I’ve ever done.
Ask @EditiEffiong who visited the smartan house and saw wonders.
We’re taking in a new cohort in January and will keep this going for as long as possible.
Next year, we’re working on filming a documentary titled “A boy, a laptop and his dreams” it will be shown to teenagers across secondary schools nationwide. Storytelling can be a powerful way to bring the crisis closer and show our young impressionable teenagers that there’s an alternative path, better than the option constantly thrown in their faces by a society that has enabled scam culture.
The only way to tackle a deeply ingrained cultural problem is to create a parallel one that can challenge and eventually replace it.
Smart culture over scam culture- The is the true essence of the smartan project.
Wahi is so, so good. He’s dealt with Saliba in the channels like nobodies business. So devastating in transition as well. If he was taller (and not the worst person on the planet), he would’ve been a great buy a couple of years ago.
@StreetEngineer_ @GM10Media @kaihavertz29 Arteta’s Arsenal do not play those type of balls. Vertical passes are made mostly in the middle of the pitch. Those passes will isolate the wingers with no support

I didn’t wake up one morning and find myself here. I started from somewhere.
My first trip outside Nigeria was a road trip with my friends back in school and it cost me ₦45,500. I didn’t travel again for a year and half
During this time, I took a 9-5 that wasn’t fully remote…
The countdown to MTE 1.0 has officially started and it'll be the first ever islam-centric tech Expo in Nigeria, and if not Africa. 📌
If you have been looking for an opportunity to connect with Muslims in the tech space, this is your chance to do so.
Good evening Nigerians - Home and abroad,
Today, in unity with my friend, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan @MohamedBinZayed , we have initiated a new era of collaboration and friendship between our nations - Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.
We've also laid a robust foundation for substantial investments in various sectors in Nigeria, a testament to our shared vision for a prosperous future.
Together, we are committed to building bridges and fostering a friendship that stands the test of time. As part of our discussions, the following have been reached:
1. Immediate lifting of the visa ban placed on Nigerian travelers by the UAE.
2. Resumption of flight schedules into and out of Nigeria by Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines, without any immediate payment required from the Nigerian government.
3. An agreed framework for new investments worth several billions of U.S. dollars into the Nigerian economy by the UAE government, covering multiple sectors including defense and agriculture.
4. A joint, new foreign exchange liquidity programme between Nigeria and the UAE, details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.
5. A commitment to normalize and enhance the relations between the two countries, fostered by the collaboration between myself and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
