JUDICIAL RULING ANNULS THE CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS AGAINST ME AND REVOKES ARREST WARRANTS AFTER 33 YEARS OF ABUSES, INSULTS, AND ILLEGALITIES.

The Seventh Criminal Court of First Instance issued, on January 5, 2026, a landmark ruling granting the defective procedural motion filed by me.

The ruling recognizes that the criminal process initiated in June 1993, after the “Serranazo,” contains serious flaws from its origin, such as lack of evidence, false evidence, violations of due process, violations of the most fundamental legal, constitutional, and human rights, and violations of the principles of presumption of innocence and legality.

These irregularities, together with an accumulation of falsehoods and manipulations, contaminated the entire procedure. Therefore, the judge ordered the annulment of all actions taken from June 2, 1993 onward and revoked all arrest warrants issued in the case, all based on the Political Constitution of the Republic of Guatemala, the Criminal Procedure Code, and the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court.

With this decision, 33 years of illegalities come to an end, during which my family and I have suffered serious harm: a forced exile following the 1993 crisis, constant threats of unjustified detention, irreparable damage to our personal and professional reputation, deep emotional impact on all our loved ones, family separation, uprooting, and, in general, limitations in our daily lives, unnecessarily prolonging an uncertainty that has marked our lives.
