Aristotle didn't think young people should study politics.

Near the beginning of the Nicomachean Ethics, he says:

"This is why a youth is not a suitable student of political science; for he lacks experience of the actions in life, which are the subject and premises of our arguments."

Politics, Aristotle argues, isn't like mathematics, where the same formula always produces the same answer. It deals with human beings, and human beings are messy, emotional, inconsistent, and endlessly complicated. Understanding them requires living.

Someone who has never managed a family, worked through failure, experienced betrayal, or carried real responsibility simply hasn't seen enough of life to judge it well. They may know the theories, but they don't yet know people.

That's why Aristotle thought experience was one of the greatest teachers. Wisdom doesn't come from reading another book or winning another argument. It comes from years of observing how people actually behave and learning the difference between what sounds good and what is good.

It's an interesting idea because modern society assumes the opposite. We believe that more information automatically leads to better judgment. Aristotle wasn't convinced. He believed knowledge without experience was incomplete.

In other words, you could memorize every political theory ever written and still lack the wisdom needed to govern well.

In a deeply unhelpful, zero-sum game, if you are not sufficiently supportive of the Iranian regime as it faces a massive bombing campaign from the US and Israel, you are immediately smeared as a "Zionist."

Conversely, if you criticise the US and Israeli war machines too harshly, you are immediately branded an "Islamist," an "Ayatollah sympathiser," or a "terrorist apologist."

But here is the uncomfortable truth that shatters this binary: It is entirely possible – and indeed, morally imperative – to be both fiercely anti-Iranian regime and vehemently anti-US and Israeli warmongering simultaneously. You do not have to be a fanboy for any empire, least of all ones that have devastated countries like Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.

🚨 Pakistan… the country that has worked miracles and has played—and continues to play—roles that the UN Security Council has been unable to fulfill: It is now announcing the completion of the signing of the peace agreement between the United States and Iran.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced: “The historic Islamabad Agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran was signed electronically today. It was signed by the presidents of both countries and ratified by me in my capacity as mediator. The agreement takes effect immediately.” First step: Iran will immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and the United States will immediately lift the naval blockade.

Shehbaz Sharif thanked President Trump for favoring a diplomatic solution and praised the U.S. negotiating team: Vance, Witkov, and Kushner. He also commended the wisdom of the Iranian leadership and extended special thanks to Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar for their contributions, which he described as “indispensable.” He also thanked the Pakistani Army Chief, who played a pivotal role in facilitating this achievement.

The country whose image has been tarnished for decades... is the one forging the peace that the superpowers failed to achieve. The wise capitals that warned against and rejected war are the very ones that led the world to peace. 🇵🇰🇸🇦🇹🇷🇪🇬🇶🇦🦅
