Moment of 2024. Moment for Centuries.

After a historic reception at the @WhiteHouse, as Graduates and Fellows of Dexterity stepped out, a street artist remarked, “I love India! What can I play for you?” Fellows of @DexterityGlobal’s National Scholar Development Program immediately asked if he could play the Indian National Anthem.

Since American Independence, this was likely the largest group of young scholars from a foreign country ever hosted at the White House. As “Jana Gana Mana” echoed in the heart of Washington, our fellows mirrored the very heart of a Dexter.

At Dexterity, we repeat, “A for anything, but B for Bharat.” #ThisIsDexterity 🧢 🇮🇳

Ten years ago, four DexSchool Graduates invited me to a discussion forum they had started at their school. This was a school only for mahadalit students, the poorest social group in the country. When I arrived, I saw something extraordinary - young kids were discussing stories and topics we teach at DexSchool. One told me, “Our Bhaiyas taught us all this when they returned.”

In last 10 years, this group has produced 18 Graduates and Fellows of Dexterity. They study at the best institutions in India and the world, have received ₹9.1 crores in scholarships and won global competitions from Cambridge to California. From unimaginable socio-economic hardships to inspirational global achievements, THIS IS generational change. #ThisIsDexterity

Tonight, I begin my 10-day visit to Europe, where I’ll join Harvard at the Friendship Four Series in Belfast, meet with Graduates and Fellows of Dexterity in England, Scotland, Belgium and Netherlands and interact with friends and faculty in London, Oxford and Cambridge.

In their preliminary training, Graduates and Fellows of Dexterity engage with hundreds of stories, speeches and poems. This, of course, includes Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago Address and Dr. Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech.

During Dexterity’s Overseas Meetup and Retraining Program (OMRP) in Chicago in 2023, Dexters paid tribute at the Art Institute of Chicago, where Swami Vivekananda captivated the world.

At #DexterityOMRP in Washington in 2024, Dexters stood at the same step at Lincoln Memorial where Dr. Martin Luther King stood to share his dream with even generations unborn.

In those four hours at the White House, a dream born in 2008 was unfolding live in 2024. Sixteen years of blood, sweat and tears had built this moment; not a random miracle. This was the hard-won reality of a founding dream. Here was a group of extraordinary young Indian leaders, with deep ability and humility, engaging with the world’s most powerful leaders at the highest tables in the most influential offices.

In a remarkable conversation at the U.S. Treasury, Graduates and Fellows of Dexterity asked insightful questions on challenges in housing and healthcare, implications of the debt ceiling and economic sanctions and probed into the impact of ongoing conflicts on global economic stability. What an inspiring moment! #ThisIsDexterity 🇮🇳

“You guys are the best of the best!”, remarked the White House Chief of Staff as Graduates and Fellows of Dexterity greeted him at the White House.

In an awe-inspiring address, former member of the Facebook Board of Directors and the Obama Cabinet, the current White House Chief of Staff Mr. Jeff Zients shared his incredible journey in public and private sector and reflected on his experiences working under President Obama and President Biden.

As you know, over 300 Graduates and Fellows of Dexterity have gone on to study at the world’s top 500 universities. In fact, at present, 8 of the world’s top 10 universities have a Dexter on campus. Singapore is no exception!

Between the Prime Minister’s session last morning and the Education Ministers tonight, squeezed out some time to have lunch with a Dexter at National University of Singapore (@NUSingapore), ranked #8 in the world.

HISTORIC!!! At the invitation of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, 35 Graduates and Fellows of Dexterity were hosted at The White House.

Over the course of four remarkable hours, Dexters interacted with senior White House leadership, had an hour long, in-depth conversation at the U.S. Treasury, and received a special tour of the White House halls, rooms, and gardens.

15 years ago, my world changed with my mother's passing. As a young schoolkid, this was unimaginable but I found strength in my mother, even in her absence. Her life, lessons and values continue to be my guiding light, making me stronger and tougher through every challenge! 🙇🏻‍♂️ ✨

Wherever Dexterity Residential Training takes place, it’s heartwarming to learn that a local child from a nearby village has come to see us. Poorna studies at her village school in Uganavadi, Karnataka, admires Dr. Kalam and wants to apply to DexSchool this year! #ThisIsDexterity

Deeply touched and honoured to receive the 2023 Prof Yeshwantrao Kelkar Youth Award. First awarded before I was even born, this recognition is not just prestigious, it is sacred for me. The 2023 award will be presented at the @ABVPVoice National Conference in New Delhi on Dec 10.

Tonight is the last night on Kaun Banega Crorepati with “Ask the Expert” lifeline. And, I’ll be back on the show for one last time this season.

Dexters are trained for deep work, not idle talk. This week, Khushi received the Undergraduate Student Award for overall excellence at @Babson College while Keshav was featured by @BrownSchool for presenting his research at the Annual Siteman Cancer Research Symposium. #GoDexters

In our great nation, we don’t curse the darkness, we light a lamp. Let’s continue to spread love, light, and happiness. My Pranaams at the feet of elders and love to all the young ones. Happy Diwali! 🪔

On the last day of my three-week visit to the US and UK, our #DexterityToCollege fellows at University of Cambridge gave me a tour of Cambridge on foot and on a boat on the River Cam. Archa is an MPhil candidate while Shubham is pursuing his PhD at the 814-yr-old university.

[Sharad Vivek Sagar @SharadSagar]

Was inspiring to meet #DexterityToCollege fellows in London at Dexterity's Overseas Meetup and Retraining Program (OMRP). From pursuing an undergraduate degree in European Politics to a PhD in Cellular Biology, young dexters from humble backgrounds are making a mark everywhere.

[Sharad Vivek Sagar @SharadSagar]

Was an honour and a delight to join our fellows at Dexterity’s Overseas Meetup & Retraining Program (OMRP) in Chicago last week! #DexterityToCollege fellows are making waves at world’s top colleges. India’s next generation will play a pivotal role in global academia & leadership!

[The Dexterity Global Group @DexterityGlobal]

As organization leaders arrived in Chicago for Dexterity’s Overseas Meetup and Retraining Program (OMRP), Swega hosted them over dinner at @UChicago. The #DexterityToCollege fellow from Tamil Nadu studies at the world’s top university on a full scholarship of Rs. 3 crores.

Three Dexters excelled at New York Times competitions this year. Mythri (16) from Andhra Pradesh won the NYT One-Pager Contest while Maharsh (16) from Gujarat and Advika (15) from Bihar received Honorable Mentions at the Annual Student Podcast Contest and Summer Reading Contest.

[Sharad Vivek Sagar @SharadSagar]

Since our founding, we've taught about Shri M S Swaminathan at Dexterity. The Father of India's Green Revolution will continue to remind Dexters in all walks of life to bridge the gap between their education and leadership and merge their educational life with our national life.
