The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers are proud to announce the signing of recently acquired forward Charlie Kay.
Kay, a 2008-born forward from Saskatoon, SK, spent the last two seasons with the Saskatoon Contacts of the SMAAAHL.
In his time with the Contacts, he appeared in 89 games, totaling 36 goals and 39 assists for 75 points, while adding 76 PIMs.
Prior to his tenure with the Contacts, Kay spent a season with the Saskatoon Riverkings, helping them win a provincial championship.
He was originally selected in the 1st Round, 9th Overall by the La Ronge Ice Wolves in the 2024 SJHL Draft.
General Manager Ryan Gibson on the addition of Kay:
“Charlie is a player we have been tracking since his draft year. When we learned he was available, it was a no-brainer for us to make a move and add him. He is a great combination of size, skill, and speed and can bring an element of heaviness that is hard to find. He will fit right into the way we are wanting to play here. There is an element of familiarity with Charlie and his former teammates Austin Schafer and Kash Ringdal as well, and we are excited to see them reunite in Kindersley.”
The Klippers organization would like to welcome Charlie and the entire Kay family to the organization.
TRADE: The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers are proud to announce the acquisition of Charlie Kay from the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
Welcome to the Kindersley, Charlie!

When I got let go from the Brandon Wheat Kings, the First player to reach out was a 16 year old Roger McQueen.
