Was it a good question? As far as questions are concerned, I suppose it was, but it was a very obvious trap question meant to put him into a tight spot. In my opinion, the admiral didn't handle answering the question very well either. He dodged around a bit and stumbled over his words before trying to dismiss the premise of the question without directly answering it. He should've just manned up and said that he unequivocally supports the POTUS, serves the people of the USA and protects our lands and water. Or something akin to that.

Well, based on a surface level Google search of the topics, these people are in fact linked to the IRGC. Supposedly they're mourning the death of Imam Husayn ibn Ali, who died in 680. The Yazd and the Tabriz are two cities in Iran, which is where the two groups get their names from. These mourning groups are called Heyats. From what I can tell, the IRGC infiltrated these Heyats and during the period of time that they perform this ceremony, the IRGC would pass out large amounts of food, which is a traditional thing that's done for mourners, and thus gained favor in these cities. The people of the area were ingratiated to the IRGC, and they took over. So, from my standpoint, you have two warring cities clashing over, I would assume, getting their shit pushed in by Uncle Sam and the IRGC falling apart, all under the guise of religion.
