The new cases per capita at the statewide level has increased since last week - this is not good. We were already at a very elevated level at 657 cases per capita last week, and now we’re close to 740.
Today, I signed an order authorizing 580 @OHNationalGuard Soldiers and Airmen into state active duty. This activation allows them to begin training in preparation to assist during the presidential inauguration in Washington D.C. This group will also assist in Ohio.
The stopping of the count of the Electoral College votes has occurred because the security of the U.S. Capitol has been breached by a violent mob. As a nation of laws, this is simply not acceptable. Lawlessness is not acceptable.
I just looked at the aerial footage from today’s collapse in Adams County. It’s frightening to think people are still trapped in that mess. Prayers going out to the rescuers and the men still trapped. We have team coverage starting at 5pm with @karinjohnson and @ToddDykesWLWT
Sheriff Kim Rogers says he doesn’t know the condition of the man rescued in the building collapse but Rogers confirms he is the man search and rescue crews had been communicating with. The man was flown to UC. Two remain unaccounted for now. @wlwt
Great news! Troy Biggs, the Green Township police officer who was desperately in need of a new kidney, just got one.
Cary Aronson, who lives across the street from Biggs, donated one of his kidneys today. The surgeries were successful and both are recovering! @WLWT
