Monsoon started and so the FLOODS. FAO reports due to natural disasters 23 % damage in agriculture sector. India needs to develop an effective DRRM Action Plan and implement it in true spirit.

To double the farmers income- as promised by our Hon'ble PM- it is must that an effective Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Planning done in Agriculture and implemented in true spirit. I have been involved in similar activities in number of countries and find - IT WORKS!

Intensity of disasters increasing and so the damage and loss to agriculture. UN reports- 23% of direct damage is in agriculture. Government may consider to include Disaster Management in Agriculture in mandate of NDMA.
