As promised before, here's a blog I've made up with all of my Grand National tips for this year. A lot of hard work went into it! Thank you. #GrandNational.
Just want to apologise for the lack of activity recently. I've been really busy with work and then also going to racecourses and taking photos. I haven't had any time to look in depth at the weekend racing and it'll be the same next weekend ๐
The nap selection is Lucander in the John Smiths Cup, York 4:05. He has a good record at the track with two wins on soft ground and was 2nd in a Cambridgeshire last year. Rain is currently falling so that'll help his cause as well Laura Pearson taking 5lbs off.
So I was going to do write-ups for these tips but I've had a busy time of it with photography at racecourses and it's caught up with me, lol. So instead i'll post up my selections:
Newmarket 4:45-
The final one from Newmarket is a familiar name, HAN SOLO BERGER (25-1) who goes well here. He won a small field race this time last year on this course and distance and is just a pound higher now. He tends to pop up at least once a year and this could be the time
Newmarket 3:35 -
The possibly forgotten horse is SAFFRON BEACH (12-1) who was a staying on 2nd in the 1000 Guineas on the Rowley course. She was a blatant non-stayer in the Oaks so this is much her type of race. Has the class to compete.
Newmarket 2:25 -
One I tipped on his debut, LUSAIL (10-1) gets my vote again. An impressive winner on debut at York, he added a novice race to his tally at this course over further. Might enjoy this trip more and this is a step up in grade but he's worth a go.
Newmarket 3:00
BLIND BEGGAR (16-1) took plenty of time to get off the mark but used his experience to run really well in a big handicap at York. He stayed on late in the day and a repeat of that will see him run well.
I'm aware that people are watching the football and will be celebrating the result, but it's also racing from Newmarket tomorrow! ๐ Tips and write-ups to follow, as well as ones from Doncaster as i'll be there tomorrow.
Newmarket 3:00 -
The nap goes to SEVEN BROTHERS (40-1) who I see a better horse than he's shown recently. Won in determined fashion on reappearance then struggled in two hot races. He was held up in those events so if he is ridden more positively in blinkers, he might surprise.
