NIA conducted searches at 10 locations in Srinagar, Kupwara, Anantnag, Pulwama & Budgam in a cross-border t€rror conspiracy case involving Pakistan-based handlers and local Over Ground Workers.

The case started after an OGW linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba was caught with a grenade and ammunition on 31 March.

In a separate action, NIA with Bihar STF arrested absconding accused Karamullah from Saran in an AK-47 recovery case.

He allegedly conspired to smuggle prohibited weapons from Nagaland to Bihar to disrupt peace and national security. Another accused Bhairaw Tripathi was arrested earlier on 19 August. Investigations in both cases continue.

Dr Sumaiya Mulla, HOD of Government Surat Medical College, allegedly used to pressure students to convert to Islam, former students allege.

The two female students allege that they were pressured to renounce Hinduism and embrace Islam by suspended HOD Dr Sumaiya Mulla in connection with the Dr Harsh Pandya suicide case.

They say videos of Maulanas were shown to them, they were asked to recite the Kalma, one of the students was taught how to perform Namaz, and they were also advised to marry Muslim men.
