Day 4: The Challenge (Citadel Interview Question):

You have 7 orbs labeled 1 to 7 hanging in a vertical stack from the ceiling.

Orb 1 is attached to the ceiling.

Orb 2 hangs from Orb 1, Orb 3 from Orb 2, and so on.
There are 6 links in total: L1 (between 1-2), L2 (between 2-3), ..., L6 (between 6-7).

At each step, one of the currently remaining links is chosen uniformly at random and cut. When a link is cut, all orbs below it fall and shatter.

What is the expected number of cuts until only Orb 1 remains?
