UCLA HC Bob Chesney - ROV & Creating Validation
- ROV = Real/Open/Vulnerable. "You should not look for validation from anyone on the internet that you don't know"
- "These parents and this generation live on the phone. I think it's really important for them to not seek validation from that. Which means you have to provide validation. Which means for us we have to be able to quantify/celebrate things."
- "The starters will get theirs, it's the guys that are doing everything right below them... Are we appreciating/celebrating them enough."

When one chooses to take on the responsibility of leadership, you ultimately agree to take on everybody’s problem-solving situations. Meaning you deal with a lot of negative moments. So you better surround yourself with a lot of positive energy people.
If you choose a team sport, and your desire for individual success is greater than your desire for your team’s success, your journey will be filled with a lot of frustration.
Winning on a team is fueled by everyone’s sacrifice.
