Record 415 Companies Incorporated in a Single Day as May Registrations Reach 3,161

The SECP registered 3,161 new companies during May 2026, reflecting continued growth and increasing confidence in the country's corporate sector. With 99.9% of companies registered online, the total number of registered companies in Pakistan has reached 297,239.

Notably, during the month, the SECP set a new benchmark by incorporating 415 new companies in a single day, marking the highest number of company incorporations in the Commission's history.

This breakthrough achievement demonstrates the growing trend toward corporatization, improved ease of doing business, and the effectiveness of the SECP's facilitative registration framework, which continues to enable entrepreneurs and businesses to formalize their operations efficiently and conveniently.

I've been hearing a bit of chatter about the pitches here in Pakistan not being the ideal preparation for the World Cup in South Africa. It’s actually a topic I talked about on the latest #PCB podcast.

Firstly the World Cup is jointly hosted in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Zimbabwe and Namibia have venues where spin is a big factor and we will be playing matches in those countries.

The myth of all pitches in South Africa being quick and bouncy are just not true, there are definitely some which are but they also vary throughout the country.

Those that remember the last ODI series Pakistan played in SA which included Paarl where spin dictated the outcome of the match. Rest assured we have competed significant research and will be using the next 18 months to prepare for a variety of conditions.

Another common misconception amongst the salaried class is that they are the only ones paying tax at source. Every reasonably sized business pays taxes at source. Take an example of a commercial importer. They must pay 3.5% - 6% income tax before they can get goods out of port.
