NEW: Iran has warned it will launch a large-scale attack on Israel if the IDF operates in the Ali Tahr Ridge, where Revolutionary Guard officers are besieged, Reuters reports. The message was passed to the U.S. through Oman in August.
Kuwait Army:
"Kuwaiti air defenses are currently confronting hostile missile and drone attacks, following the sinful Iranian aggression.
The General Staff of the Army notes that if explosion sounds are heard, they are the result of air defense systems intercepting the hostile attacks.
Everyone is requested to adhere to the security and safety instructions issued by the competent authorities."
U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright on the Strait of Hormuz:
Iran has played this card to try to hold the world hostage, thinking everybody will bend to their needs. That’s nonsense.
On Monday, the U.S. Navy escorted over 17 million barrels of crude oil floating out of the Strait of Hormuz.
That's above the levels that floated out of the Strait of Hormuz pre-conflict
Netanyahu on Iran:
The regime in Iran will fall. We will bring it down. It is already on its last legs.
All our systems, under my guidance, act to overthrow this regime.
It comes down to:
1) Does Australia need more fuel self sufficiency from a national security standpoint. (I think the answer is yes)
and
2) What is the lower cost ways to realise more fuel self sufficiency. A new refinery, with more domestic oil production to feed it, may actually be found to be far lower cost than alternative options such as more EV subsidies, biofuels, or more fuel storage.
The U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve has dropped to its lowest level since 1982, Department of Energy data this week showed, revealing the continued drawdown of emergency oil as the nation weathers a global energy shortage. https://t.co/wAIawQILF9
