So, after huge backlash from Students, ICAI has ONLY ALTERED dates & agrees to give mobility to students in choosing Exam Centres keeping #LokSabhaElections2024 in mind.

THIS IS COMPLETELY NOT ACCEPTABLE & THE WHOLE EXAM TIMETABLE MUST BE POSTPONED TO AFTER ELECTION.

Why?

CA students come from far away towns & villages. In majority cases, there are no proper facilities for students to stay & study in their hometowns. Many hometowns are not even examination centres. So the students have to reach towns hosting examination centres, very much in advance & stay there temporarily till last paper. Does the Intellectual Management of ICAI think that these students should travel back 150-200 kms to their native place, cast Vote & come back for the exam on next day? In short, ICAI is making mockery of Democratic Rights of Students.

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE & DELIBERATE EFFORT TO DEPRIVE 4.4 LAKH 1ST TIME VOTERS FROM THEIR RIGHT TO SELECT GOVT BY VOTING!

Hence CA institute must postpone the exams so that CA students can go to their hometowns to vote and come back, prepare for exams &
appear the exams.

SO-CALLED relaxation of "changing city" does not help because many students coming from tier 3, 4, 5 towns may not have examination centres there. Does ICAI expect those students to travel to some unknown city to appear for the exam?

Mumbai alone has thousands of students coming from various small towns of Rajasthan, Gujarat, and nearly all other States of the country. Marwadi and Gujarati hostels are filled with these CA students who get access to common libraries in hostel, books, etc which they will not get in their hometowns, even assuming the hometown has a centre. How do you expect students to prepare & vote?

Anyone who wants to argue that Postponing Exams may affect further schedule of Students Career, must note that it has already been done in 2014 & 2019 without any inconvenience.

ICAI MUST LEAVE IT'S UNREASONABLE APPROACH & POSTPONE ENTIRE EXAM TO AFTER ELECTIONS!

Ps: To all CA Fraternity who might have felt bad with my yesterday's post saying “it seems" that ICAI is doing this deliberately to politically hurt BJP's prospects, pls know that I have used the term “ICAI" & NOT “Chartered Accountants", which means I have spoken on PROBABLE MISCHIEF of “Management of ICAI" & NOT the entire CA Fraternity.
