Canada has two other commercial broadcasters that I’m sure will be happy to pick up #BBUS. @BellMediaPR@CraveCanada Already own the Quebec franchise and IMO are the logical choice for BB in English Canada. #BBCAN#BB28#SaveBBCAN
@educ8edhouzwife Nothing. Given that Canadian Networks make the vast majority of their money from Simultaneous Substitution a new home is inevitable. There’s no way another network is going to allow a popular franchise like #BBUS to go un-monetized in Canada.
@AnActualSnake A new home for #BBUS in Canada is inevitable. As Canadian Networks make the vast majority of their money through Simultaneous Substitution there’s absolutely no way another network is going to allow a popular franchise like #BBUS to go un-monetized in Canada.
@willjames93 No just broke ass Corus. Canadian Networks make the vast majority of their money through Simultaneous Substitution and there’s absolutely no way another network is going to allow a popular franchise like #BBUS go un-monetized in Canada.
@RachelsSequins No biggie. Simultaneous Substitution means that a new home is inevitable as there’s absolutely no way another network is going to allow a popular franchise like #BBUS to go un-monetized in Canada.
@josianexnm#BBUS finding a new home in Canada is inevitable as due to to Simultaneous Substitution there’s no way another network is going to allow a popular franchise to go un-monetized in Canada.
@RyleyJCox @aideedeed It’s why Big Brother Canada aired at 7:00 PM ET / PT (or 8:00 PM local time in markets like Calgary) on Global and not 8:00 PM ET / PT or later like BBUS does.
@RyleyJCox @aideedeed No. As Canadian Networks make the vast majority of their money through Simultaneous Substitution schedules during Prime Time mirror that of their American counterparts. Meaning Canadian content is always scheduled before/after US programming.
@aideedeed We don’t… Corus is broke. Also
Simultaneous Substitution means that a new home for #BBUS in Canada is inevitable. There’s absolutely no way that Bell or Rogers are going to allow the franchise to go un-monetized Canada. As for #BBCAN chances of a revival are far more likely now
There’s absolutely no way that either @RogersMediaPR or @BellMediaPR are going to allow a popular franchise like #BBUS to go un-monotized in Canada. As for #BBCAN a revival is far more likely to happen now that both franchises can be under the same banner #BB28
#BBUS finding a new home in Canada is inevitable due to something called Simultaneous Substitution. This means that if an American Network is airing a show that a Canadian Network owns the rights to the American feed is replaced with the corresponding Canadian Network. #BB28
@bbspy Whether or not such a deal will also include #BBCAN is another story but I tend to think one of the reasons it never jumped ship has been that Global/Corus still retained the SimSub rights for #BBUS. @CraveCanada own the Quebec Franchise. They are only logical choice #BB28
@bbspy Canadian Networks make money by what’s referred to as Simultaneous Substitution which replaces the American
feed with that of the Canadian Network airing the same show at the same time. So for that reason it’s inevitable #BBUS will find a new home in Canada.
@RevDonkBonkers@EvelDick In other words due to Simultaneous Substitution it’s not a big deal as another network will likely pick up the rights to #BBUS.
@RevDonkBonkers@EvelDick That’s an oversimplification. Yes we have access to American Networks but Canadian networks make money by something called Simultaneous Substitution. Meaning when BB airs in Canada the CBS feed is replaced by the corresponding Global Network airing BB at the same time.
