A campaign group for B&NES libraries and advisers for library campaigns across the UK. Because libraries are more than books, they're the heart of communities.
Bath Central Library's Quiet Spaces for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities will be available between 11am and 4pm today.
@mollykh It's no coincidence the dates in that article exactly match this party's rule. The DCMS under Cameron set out a step by step plan to local councils on how to starve libraries.
True, the national loss will take decades to recover from, but we can begin next week by voting out the party that have caused this destruction. Voting out the Con council in Bath came after a 2-year fight, and while there's still work to do, at least we still have our library.
To quote the great @PhilipPullman “Libraries are repositories of delight we should not dream of destroying. Politicians who allow this should be ashamed.”
PLEASE VOTE.

This is such excellent news @SaveBathLibrary and a timely reminder to small people that collective voices, scrappy crowds and a badly made cardboard placard can and do count.. #handsoffourbooks. Job done. Country next @bathdeserves@bathnesld
From the core team who worked tirelessly to the hundreds who petitioned and marched to the library staff who had to endure uncertainty... This campaign really did take a village. All worth it. We love our library, we do!
Cllr Richard Samuel said the previous administration's plans to integrate the One Stop Shop into Bath central library were a "tremendous waste of money that shows what happens when you fail to listen". He said the idea should be abandoned.
We are looking for enthusiastic and creative volunteers to help deliver craft events in Bath Central Library. Is this role for you? Learn more:

Maybe there's a colossally costly, massively maligned project we could scrap that might save the UK economy tens of billions over the next decade? *scratches head*
This is excellent news from @bathnes. After a long journey, a costly and unnecessary £3M expenditure on co-locating with the OneStopShop has been scrapped and there is a proposal to invest in refurbishments for Bath Central Library. However... https://t.co/Tahk2ab4B1
just another way of saying 'here's a tiny sum now do it yourself.' We understand the significant challenges council faces particularly when vital care & health services are threatened. But we can still look to a future where every child has access to a library, and a librarian.
Did you know that Libraries are more than ‘just books’ they are also about public access arts and culture too...?! If you are a classical music lover then this is the event for you - celebrate 250 years of Beethoven’s music! #beethoven2020#music
