๐ณ The National Trust are selling three acres of wildlife-rich woodland in Bovey Tracey, Devon, for housing development. Weโre determined to save it! ๐ณ
This is Bonds Meadow
The #NationalTrust owned #Woodland on the edge of #Dartmoor#Devon, being sold for housing development.
Meet our Campaign Organiser Sally Morgan giving some background on the #SaveBondsMeadow campaign.
Please help us raise awareness by retweeting!
@DWTCE @DorsetWildlife please could you help us make contact with Julia Davies from #WeHaveThePower to see if they can help support our #SaveBondsMeadow campaign? We are running out of time to save this #wildlife rich #woodland from development! More info in the video ๐
@RoyalMintUK dropped @nationaltrust coin after charity judged โtroubled and politicalโ. Looks like the #SaveBondsMeadow campaigners arenโt the only ones disillusioned with the trust.

Ancient woodlands are under threat.
The rising severity of diseases has hit them hard โ at least 30,000 ash trees are expected to be felled this winter as a result of dieback alone, costing over ยฃ3 million.

#COP26 saw World leaders promising to end #deforestation by 2030. How can you justify the destruction of this regenerated #woodland @HMcG_DGNT @nationaltrust?
OUR TREE SURVEY DATA IS OUT! Please RETWEET! @ChrisGPackham
@nationaltrust Well done, @nationaltrust but isn't this just more rhetoric when you are still contributing to the problem? Given the commitment by global leaders at #COP26 to end #deforestation, isn't it time to review your own decisions to sell off #woodland for development?
A message to the #NationalTrust on the opening of the #COP26 summit. If world leaders are promising to stop felling #trees, how about reprieving the #woodland you are selling for development? Use this opportunity to prove your commitment to #climatechange and #SaveBondsMeadow now
Scanniclift Copse, a small nature reserve near Exeter, was left to DWT by Kathleen Dorothy Gifford Scott in 1984. DWT manages this beautiful woodland for wildlife, home to rare horseshoe bats. Find out how a gift in your Will can help Devon's wildlife ๐ https://t.co/8tYjXZfuAK
We now have over 5000 SIGNATURES on our petition to #SaveBondsMeadow - The equivalent of around 2/3 of the population of Bovey Tracey.

The 2021 #BigButterflyCount count has seen the lowest ever number of butterflies recorded.
Two of the species in greatest decline (Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell) were recorded in Bonds Meadow.
Shame on you @nationaltrust!
@savebutterflies
In case you missed it, our Big #ButterflyCount results revealed that butterfly & moth numbers are in decline - but we have a plan to combat this & you can help us ๐
