We're calling on the @scotgov to set out a stronger, clearer plan that will deliver on its legal commitments & ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive. Read our full joint statement here: https://t.co/H7k5OlIUzT
We recognise the progress made through the Scottish Child Payment & the commitment to babies. These measures are making a difference.
But too many families are still struggling, & the current plan lacks the scale & urgency needed to meet the 2030 child poverty targets. (2/3)
How we talk about child poverty matters.
That’s why our #ChangingTheStory project @jrf_uk is so important - a guide shaped by parents with lived experience to help change the narrative around child poverty in Scotland.

All families in England, Wales and Scotland will be worried about the further impact on their budgets of the energy price cap rise.
But for poorer families who spend a larger percentage of their income on energy bills, this will be particularly painful.
We're calling on the UK Government to introduce a discounted tariff for low income families called a "social tariff". This would help those hit the hardest.
Great to see our @EndChildPoverty statement ft in @ThirdForceNews
We urge the newly re-elected @ScotGovFM to bring forward a revised child poverty delivery plan & set out how the 2030 targets will be met.

Along with other members of @EndChildPoverty in Scotland we are gravely concerned current policy wont meet child poverty targets, and call on the newly re-elected @ScotGovFM to urgently bring forward a revised child poverty plan see @ThirdForceNews https://t.co/Jgo72zJ6tg
Congratulations @ScotGovFM. We look forward to continuing to work with you to progress our shared priority of eradicating child poverty. It is the actions of this government that will determine whether we meet the 2030 targets - what a legacy this will be #NoLimitsToChildhood.
We're devastated by the reports that a missile strike on an apartment building in Kyiv has killed 24 people, including three children.
Over 3,500 children have been killed or injured in Ukraine since the start of full-scale war over four years ago.
Children are not part of this conflict, they’re caught in a cycle of violence they never chose. These horrors must not be normalised.
Without urgent action from global leaders, including the UK Government, conflict risks becoming a lawless free-for-all where nothing is off-limits.
We refuse to let this become the new normal. Your voice has power.
Take action now: https://t.co/x3cfAyqLMe

Today we celebrate the life of our longest-serving volunteer, Terry Holt.
Terry was born in 1923, only four years after Save the Children was founded. She recently passed away at age 102.
Terry served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service between 1941 and 1948 and saw first-hand the fate of children growing up in conflict.
After returning home, she founded the Cheadle and Gatley branch of Save the Children in 1953, and ran many activities and events over the years, raising a lot of money for children who need it.
After seeing news coverage about Gaza, Terry felt the need to ‘do her bit’ for children there.
So, for her 100th birthday, she held a mulled wine and mince pie coffee morning with the aim of raising £1,500, but ended up raising £3,000!
Terry was a remarkable woman and leaves an incredible legacy.
What a privilege to have had a lifetime of your support, Terry. Thank you. ❤️
As @patmcfaddenmp outlines here, the impact of poverty on children can have huge consequences for the rest of their lives.
That's why we must invest in children to give them the futures they deserve.
Save the Children ambassador, Shabaz Ali, interviewed the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions about what the UK Government is doing to tackle child poverty and support young people.

Marya*, a mum of 2 in Glasgow, was struggling to afford food after moving into temporary accommodation.
We helped her buy winter clothes & essentials thanks to funding @MorganStanley ❤️

This edition @ThirdForceNews features an op ed from Ollu, a parent we support, sharing the reality behind child poverty.
With the election fast approaching, we must focus on what matters: children & families. There should be #NoLimitsToChildhood

In Sudan last month I spoke to survivors of the El Fasher siege. One story really stuck with me.
I met Minahil*, a mother who was forced to flee the violence with her family. Tragically, her older son wasn't allowed to leave. He was one of 6,000 people killed. She is now living in a displacement camp with the rest of her family in River Nile State.
Save the Children is doing what it can to support Minahil* and families like hers. But so much more needs to be done.
Sudan’s children are suffering the most acute hunger and education crisis in the world right now. The UK Government and international partners need to step up in this hour of need.
You have the power to make a difference.
Please message your Member of Parliament - the more emails they get about Sudan, the more likely they are to push the government to act: https://t.co/mK3h6sASzl

The Middle East conflict is taking a devastating toll on children.
Forced to flee from their homes, they clutch toys and schoolbags, trying to hold onto small comforts as their world is uprooted.
Schools have become shelters for displaced families, and playgrounds storage for humanitarian aid.
No child should have to live through this. This war must stop, and children’s futures must be protected.
