Some good news for a change! Knocksink bridge awarded €44,000 from the Regional Roads funding. This #bridge can tell a few stories. @seerymk@enniskerry_hist
A beautiful #birdofprey 🦅has been living in this #tree and the kids have loved watching it from their school. A true outpouring of emotion falling on deaf ears. Impossible not to feel emotional watching this. #saveenniskerry
“In this day and age, we need to find ways of integrating both the environment and developments together” says Cllr Rory O’Connor @SaveEnniskerry

@SaveEnniskerry The proposal to plant more trees as #ClimateAction? We have to save our existing trees!Stricter enforcement, TPOs, mandatory tree surveys, heavy fines @noonan_malcolm.We need planning laws that prevent this needless destruction. Environmentally sensitive & sustainable development.
@iznel7 We are fighting a lot of development in Enniskerry. Some we win, some we lose. We lost here but that doesn’t mean we accept their methods. We are a small community being attacked by many large developers and we do our best!
@TurloughADK @LeoVaradkar@MichealMartinTD Could @LeoVaradkar and @MichealMartinTD explain why biodiversity and retention of habitat is so far down their list of priorities that they refuse to engage. Making them complicit in the destruction of so much of what makes Ireland beautiful.
@SullyFiona@seandlynch This wasn’t a dangerous tree and it is on private land. It was removed for development along with vast amounts of hedgerow. It was in the way and it was destroyed.
@iznel7 Not specifically this site as planning has already been approved and the development is going ahead, but there are others within Enniskerry we are fighting against. Our Facebook page has all the info. Take a look saveenniskerry
@HannahG91346056 And it’s not the only one proposed for the village @anbordpleanala and @wicklowcoco allowing many more. We need @SimonHarrisTD and @stevensgreen1 to stand up for this beautiful village and prevent its destruction. #saveenniskerry
@Saffroniqu3 I don’t believe that any hedgerow was torn down for that particular fence, but plenty of other hedgerow has been removed by the developer.
@bartleyj49 @lelaurajane @ebdxfr @IrishRainforest This tree is felled entirely. There is more to the video but it becomes more distressing. It isn’t about the ivy. It is in the way of development.
@WaterVole@p_aulwhite @RobGMacfarlane Yes, you’re right it is for development. But what a callous and unnecessary way to destroy something that has stood on this earth for longer than any of the people tasked with removing it.
