Parks and green spaces are proven to help us stay physically and mentally well. This #WorldMentalHealthDay, and every day, a park bench can be a place to start a conversation. Even if someone says they're fine, make sure you #AskTwice.
One of the wonderful things that has happened over the last 6 years of our campaign has been new & renewed friendships.People have supported eachother through the highs & lows, shared memories of the green & enjoyed the green together. It's good to talk π

Day 52....it's a cold one but local people aren't deterred. They feel passionately about protecting green space for all. This has never been about denying pupils a pitch. We want the best for everyone and local people don't believe the proposal is best for our community. πππ
Dr. Christine Doherty, the Biodiversity Officer from @dcsdcouncil stressing the important role green & blue spaces have on addressing local issues and the positive impact that these valuable natural resources have on the physical and mental health of the local communities.
Great to hear a contributor on @BBCTalkback talking about the value of greenspaces for good mental & physical health! That's exactly why we're campaigning to protect our community greenspace at Glassmullin Green ππ
Protectors have packed up early for TODAY only. We will be there tomorrow and for as long as it takes to protect #Glassmullin. This is a gesture of goodwill. @lasallebelfast @haffeysportsgro
2/2 it is worth noting that it is local people who are protecting #Glassmullin and they will continue to do so. Afterall, we have eyes on the green at all times and we live here. #saveourgreen @lasallebelfast @haffeysportsgro
Day 50. Local people have been out from before 6am. They have shown commitment to protect #Glassmullin green. We believe that @lasallebelfast & @haffeysportsgro are meeting today. Residents have not been invited to this. As a gesture of goodwill, our protectors will pack up. 1/2
2015 tweet. Same argument applies in 2019. We have consistently made the point that if the green is fenced off, it goes from an 'informal open green' as per the covenant to a formal, structured space. The reduction in scale of proposal does not address this issue. #saveourgreen
Next week is World Mental Health Week #WMHD19 Open green space is vital for good mental health - fair play to all the residents prepared to defend the right of their entire community to this precious resource
