Mohan Bhagwat and his hateful Hindu nationalist ideology are not welcome in our communities. His paramilitary organization the RSS is responsible for violent attacks and pogroms against Muslims, Sikhs, Dalits, Christians, and more.

We must reject all forms of hate and supremacy.

[Rep. Jim McGovern @RepMcGovern]

Former USCIRF Chairs @StephenSchneck & @NadineMaenza are right: The Hindu nationalist RSS helped make discrimination & violence against religious minorities mainstream in India. Its chief, Mohan Baghwat, should face accountability—not be given a platform to foment hatred.

🇮🇳 🇺🇸 More Than 1,000 Americans Call on U.S. to Deny Visa to Hindu Nationalist Leader

More than 1,000 people across the United States have urged Secretary of State Marco Rubio to deny or revoke a visa for Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat ahead of his scheduled August 29 appearance at Madison Square Garden, according to the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC).

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom recommended visa restrictions and asset freezes targeting RSS leaders in March, citing the Hindu nationalist organization’s involvement in “acts of extreme violence and intolerance” against religious minorities. Bhagwat was also the RSS general secretary during the 2002 Gujarat massacres. Human Rights Watch named the RSS among the groups “most directly responsible” for the anti-Muslim violence, which killed some 2,000 people.

“Mohan Bhagwat does not represent Indian Americans, and Madison Square Garden should not present him as though he does,” IAMC President Mohammed Jawad said. The group is also asking the venue to cancel the event and New York officials to condemn it.

🚨 Interfaith Coalition Protests RSS Chief’s U.S. Visit

Faith leaders and community advocates gathered outside the U.S. State Department to oppose the upcoming U.S. tour of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and demand action over the RSS’s record of promoting Hindutva and undermining religious freedom in India.

📢 The coalition is calling on the U.S. government to:
🇺🇸 Review Bhagwat’s visa and deny him entry to the United States
⚖️ Act on USCIRF’s call for sanctions against the RSS
🕊️ Defend the rights of Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, Dalits and other vulnerable communities facing discrimination and violence.

You can take action. Urge the U.S. government to deny Bhagwat entry and hold the RSS accountable: https://t.co/7cEphUTEau

🚨 Urgent Action Needed: Oppose RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s North American Tour 🚨

Intelligence and national security findings have exposed the serious, ongoing threat of foreign interference and transnational repression targeting diaspora communities in both Canada and the United States. The RSS and BJP actively promote a right-wing Hindutva ideology that carries devastating human rights implications for religious and ethnic minorities.

With RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat scheduled to begin a tour of Canada and the U.S. on August 25, 2026, it is vital that we stand up to protect our democratic institutions and safeguard vulnerable communities.

Do not stay silent. Take a stand and email your representatives today to oppose his visit! ⬇️

Cmmr @Gene_Mills: “RSS leaders, even when affiliated with the Indian gov’t, should not be honored with high-level meetings or diplomatic courtesies. Instead, the USG should focus on imposing sanctions on RSS members found responsible for FoRB violations.” https://t.co/q5XuXTKsgF

[Justice For All @JFAorg]

🚨 ALERT: Why a USCIRF Wants Sanctions on the RSS 🚨

On August 25, 2026, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to visit the United States. USCIRF has recommended targeted sanctions, including asset freezes and entry bans, against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Why? Because they have been named responsible for "systematic, ongoing, and egregious" violations of religious freedom.

❌ Don’t let an ideology recommended for U.S. sanctions visit our shores unopposed.❌

✊ TAKE ACTION NOW:
Email your representatives and urge them to oppose the visit of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat.
