@sarahjolney1 you had the opportunity to ask a question at PMQs and what do you focus on - Indefinite Leave to Remain for foreign nationals?
What about:
> Small boats National Emergency?
> High unemployment?
> Lack of business investment?
> Failing economy?
> Cost of Living Crisis?
> Defence?
> High inflation?
Everything that is wrong with the @LibDems@TRLibDems@Gareth_Roberts_ waste of time protest party….
How about focusing on us, the British nationals, who pay your wages?
Did you know….
2025/26 - Scotland
Total Public Spending: - £123.6 billion (a 4.8% increase from the prior year).
- Total Revenue Raised: £98.3 billion (a 6.9% increase, driven by tax threshold freezes and employer national insurance adjustments)
- Notional Fiscal Deficit: £25.3 billion (which represents 10.9% of Scotland's GDP, compared to the wider UK deficit of 4.2%).
@Suewilson91 Thick as mince…
GE’s are held every 5 years and select ‘the government of the day’
Referendums address constitutional changes and are held ‘once in a lifetime’
@Eddystone506 😂🤣 this guy is so desperate….
1) Average (27:1) is the wrong measure
2) U.K. vs G7 peers (France, Germany, Italy)…we all know U.K. real GDP growth has outpaced our peers
*The EEC has not existed since 1993 🤡
@LauraEWebsterr Does your analysis include the cumulative Barnett formula payments since devolution that total £700bn - £800bn?
Asking for a friend…
You know UK taxpayers paid 50% of Scotland’s public spending this year, 79% last year…whilst the SNP run a 10% budget deficit…?
You had a once in a generation democratic vote in 2014.
@theSNP stated this was the agreed position at the time of the Referendum.
You stated if the @theSNP achieved a majority in 2026 this should trigger another independence vote.
You didn’t achieve the 65 seats required for a majority. Support for the SNP declined.
Why is the SNP running a 10.9% budget deficit? You couldn’t run a brothel next to a dockyard.
@Hamill2086John £5m….?
@theSNP running a £25.3 billion (or 10.9% of GDP) budget deficit in 2025-26.
This despite a record £50bn Barnett formula payment.
Clown show.
That’s correct….
The Office for Budget Responsibility forecasts that total UK North Sea oil and gas tax receipts (comprising offshore corporation tax, petroleum revenue tax, and the Energy Profits Levy) will be around £4.1 billion for 2025–26….
Declining to £100m in 2030-31….
You won’t need your £34 billion Barnett payment this year then (£50bn the previous year)?
Hold on, that payment accounts for 50% of Scotland’s public spending (79% the previous year)….
Even though North Sea Oil & Gas revenues are c. £2bn this year…
Don’t worry, the @theSNP will still manage to run a 10.9% budget deficit (12% the previous year).
🤡
@WillieL1959@VinceMoran12@snp Typical response when your narrative falls apart when presented with the facts.
The normal playbook is -
> put out a narrative that is nonsensical
> deny the official data
> double down on the narrative
@AberdeenIndy@VinceMoran12@snp Best you go back to your job in the warehouse 😂
You’re blocked for being economically illiterate, intentionally misleading and promoting ideology over facts.
In 2025-26 (the previous FY) the initial core settlement allocated by the UK Treasury was £47.6 billion, which later increased to £50 billion following the UK Main Estimates process.
This included a historic £3.4 billion top-up via Barnett consequential.
The Scottish Government set its total spending budget at £63.4 billion.
U.K. Taxpayers contributed 79% towards Scotland’s public spending, and the @theSNP retards still manage to run up a 12% budget deficit 🤡
@GreenBhoy1967@VinceMoran12@snp That’s correct, we do have £3 trillion of debt.
Doesn’t change the basic facts about Scotland’s budget, the Barnett Formula and the 10% budget deficit. It was 12% the previous year, so I guess we should pat the SNP on the back 🤭 this compares to a U.K. average deficit of 4%
