England's temporary accommodation crisis isn't a failure of policy or finances. It's the system working as built. In LIFELINES, a @Justlife report out today, I explore how –from Victorians to New Labour– we got into this mess. And how to get out of it: https://t.co/1jWhRu7QTz

🆘 Privatisation has failed housing
Right to Buy without replacement hollowed out social housing.
Now we have:
• Sky-high rents
• Housing benefit soaring
• Families stuck in insecure homes
We’re living with the consequences of decisions made in the 1980s and never corrected.
Housing is infrastructure and we treated it like a clearance sale.
