I was delighted to find native English Bluebells still blooming in Lagan Meadows in Belfast today πͺ»β¨
Especially, since this nature reserve is under intense assault from numerous escapee species from local gardens.
It is beyond belief that it remains legal to sell Spanish Bluebells in Northern Ireland (with no warning that they are invasive) and that there is no effort at all from the authorities to educate those lucky enough to live beside our precious nature reserves with regard to the damage done by the contents of their gardens.

Investment was about nature-based solutions to climate change. It included planting native wildflowers and grasses in the meadow & digging the flood alleviation ponds. Any sort of pitch on that meadow denatures the renatured space.
The meadow is yours.
