A serious problem that is being overlooked by institutions that simply treat students as cash cows and do not care about their welfare. Come on, we are surely better than this #SaveOurUnis

UKHE is in the midst of the greatest crisis of my lifetime. It is not hyperbole to state that the wellbeing and lives of millions is at stake. Don’t rely on others to do the right thing. Speak out and fight. One day you will have to justify your actions.
Dispell the illusion that UK unis are public! It is misleading. If an institution sells shares to private investors, takes loans from the private sector who then dictate its spending, if it operates private companies (e.g. temp agencies, accomodations), takes fees from students+

Burnout should not be normalised for anyone. Important piece here on burnout in academia ⬇️ though please remember in HE academic related + professional staff (@UCU_ARPS) + support staff are also under enormous pressure too. Burnout is very real across all staff groups.
When academic staff are made redundant during Phase 2 of the University’s COVID19 Response Programme, the policy permits use of their recordings to replace teaching. Vote NO in the ballot to send a strong signal that we will not take Phase 2 lying down.
