🚨Rye House Speedway Needs You!
Save the date: 11 August 2026. The long-awaited public hearing into the future of Rye House Stadium will take place at East Herts Council, Pegs Lane SG13 8EQ. This is your chance to show the Planning Inspector that Rye House Speedway still matters
A public hearing has been ordered because of the level of public interest. Now that interest must be seen. A strong turnout will show Rye House is not forgotten and not without supporters willing to stand up for it. Keep the date free and be there. @_lewiscocking@BenCrystall

A photo that makes me happy because it brings back memories of good times but it also makes me sad because none of these teams exist now and neither does the tournament 🥺
Rye House ride at Mildenhall on Saturday 25th April-hoping to see as many Rockets fans there as possible. A site visit by a Government Planning Inspector at Rye House Stadium is expected soon. We’ll share an update as soon as dates are confirmed
Joe Owen & Andrew Silver leading out the teams for this match between Ellesmere Port & Rye House. Louis Carr & I think, Rob Woffinden following the captains. And it looks like Joe is having a crafty cigarette.

Captured exactly why Rye House still matters. It’s about protecting shared history & community so future generations can make their own memories. RHAG wont allow disreputable individuals to erase decades of sporting heritage. @_lewiscocking@BenCrystall@Bobdeering4@Bucky1979
Excellent letter from Brian Buck in @speedwaystarmag a sad indictment of the kind of Council and Developer behaviour seen across the country in recent years
Leisure, heritage and history just thrown aside - and it's not just speedway tracks either

I’ve been campaigning to make it easier to protect community & sporting facilities and was delighted that the government adopted my plans in the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill.
Sports facilities are the beating heart of local communities ⚽️🏏🏊♀️
Flashback to 2017 and sadly another missed team… Bradley Wilson-Dean (B) and Jason Doyle (R) lead Edward Kennett (W) and Stuart Robson (YB) Swindon V Rye House 13-04-2017

Exeter's Frank Smart & Jan Pedersen of Rye House race away from the tapes in 1993. Frank was still racing @ Pinjar Park down here in Perth Western Australia as recently as 2023. And still very much on the pace.
We are asking Hammers fans to contact our Thurrock MP to push for her support for a forthcoming Assets of Community Value Bill, which is scheduled for a second reading in the House of Commons on Friday 11th July.

This morning SwindonNeedsSpeedway have emailed both local MPs to ask they support a bill from @efoody to change the Localism Act to make sporting venues auto Assets of Community Value
You too can do the same to ensure they understand how important this is
